Anna Sorli has been the Managing Director of the Sorli Group for over eight years. As the third generation of the Sorli family, she has been instrumental in modernising the supermarket chain.
With an extensive background in the retail sector, she has spent more than 30 years working at the Group, first as Marketing Director and currently as Managing Director.
Her commitment to equality led her to establish the Sorli Private Foundation, an organisation that promotes effective equality between women and men in Catalonia’s business community through training, support, awareness-raising and research. The Foundation works to advance gender equality and tackle gender-based violence in the workplace through specialised training programmes and equality plans for private companies and public institutions in Catalonia. Anna serves as President of the Foundation.
Having studied Fashion Design at IDEP, she is passionate about fashion and has returned to her roots to create SOMIA, a women’s clothing and accessories brand for which she personally designs every piece.
SOMIA is a sustainable, ethical and locally produced fashion brand that collaborates with foundations supporting the employment integration of women seeking a second chance and people with different abilities.
Anna is known for her passion for every project she undertakes and her versatility, which reflects the diverse interests she has developed throughout her life. With an inquisitive mind and an entrepreneurial spirit, she ensures that all her projects remain true to their values.
Awards and recognitions
- In 2023, Anna Sorli received the FIDEM Award for Shared Responsibility in recognition of her work promoting gender equality.
- In 2023, SOMIA received the Best Emerging Fashion Company Award from 080 Barcelona Fashion / Rec.0 for its commitment to sustainability, local workshop production, high-quality materials and low-impact organic fabrics designed to create long-lasting garments.
- In 2023, the Government of Catalonia awarded Anna Sorli the President Macià Medal for Work.
- In 2024, Anna Sorli received the Special Business Award presented by the Catalan Association of Women Executives and Entrepreneurs, Dones pel Futur.
