AIJEC Opens Applications for the Young Entrepreneur Award

AIJEC CANDIDATURES PREMI EMPRESARI 2026 NEWSLETTER

AIJEC has opened the application period for the 33rd edition of the Young Entrepreneur Award, one of the benchmark recognitions for entrepreneurship in Catalonia. Applications can be submitted until May 20 through the website www.premijoveempresari.cat

The Young Entrepreneur Award annually recognizes businesspeople under the age of 45 who stand out for their track record, the consolidation of their business project, and their ability to generate economic and social impact.

With more than three decades of history, the award has become a benchmark for showcasing innovative, sustainable business initiatives with strong future potential. Each year, the jury evaluates aspects such as the project’s economic viability, entrepreneurial spirit, personal trajectory, innovation, international outlook, and future challenges.

Among past winners are names that are now key figures in Catalonia’s economic landscape, such as Josep Ametller (Ametller Origen), José Elías (Audax), Horacio Martos (Social Point), Marc Coloma (Heura), and Elisenda Bou-Balust (Vilynx).

According to AIJEC president Vicenç del Mar Mullor, the Young Entrepreneur Award recognizes the talent and effort of young business leaders and highlights their role as a driver of innovation and growth. “In a changing context, it is more important than ever to recognize young entrepreneurs capable of innovating, adapting, and generating new opportunities,” he states.

Leading entrepreneurship awards in Catalonia

In this new edition, AIJEC will once again recognize different profiles through several categories:

Young Entrepreneur Award, highlighting business trajectory and leadership.
Best Business Initiative Award, for innovative projects with growth potential.
Social Entrepreneurship Recognition, for initiatives with social or environmental impact.
Blue Entrepreneurship Recognition, linked to blue economy and sustainability projects.
Business Linguistic Quality Recognition, for companies that promote the use of Catalan

In addition, during the award ceremony, which will take place on September 14 at the Palau de la Música Catalana, the Best Business Trajectory Recognition and the Future Business Leaders Recognition will also be presented.

From all submitted applications, AIJEC will select three finalists, and the winner will be chosen by a jury made up of representatives from leading public and private institutions in the country, as well as various media outlets. Individuals aged between 18 and 45 with business activity in Catalonia are eligible to apply for the Young Entrepreneur Award.

Highlighting the role of young entrepreneurs

With this new call for applications, AIJEC reinforces its commitment to young talent and the country’s business ecosystem, highlighting projects that contribute to job creation, innovation, and growth.
