The last AIJEC Experience Lunch of this year was attended by Josep Sánchez Llibre, president of Foment del Treball and vice-president of CEOE, who shared his career, values and vision with around forty young entrepreneurs. The meeting, held last Thursday at the Eurostars Grand Marina Hotel, was also a special event to mark the end of Ruben Sans’s term as president of AIJEC.

In a friendly and inspiring atmosphere, Sánchez Llibre took a tour of his personal and business beginnings, from the creation of Conserves Dani to his commitment to politics and institutional leadership. “Catalonia is a land of opportunities and you have to know how to see them and take advantage of them”, he highlighted to the attendees. He also highlighted the role of Foment as a modern, effective business lobby committed to equal opportunities, where today 5 of the 16 vice-presidencies are occupied by female entrepreneurs.

The president of Foment has encouraged young entrepreneurs to take advantage of the potential of entities like Foment, which, he said, “are about to be useful to companies” and can be key to strengthening the competitiveness of the business fabric.

Among the topics discussed during the symposium were taxation, talent retention and the need to create efficient structures to give voice to young entrepreneurs and businessmen, especially at a time marked by high levels of fiscal pressure and low returns.

The lunch coincided with the official announcement of the call for elections for the presidency of the AIJEC, which will be held on July 9. As is tradition in the organization, the outgoing board has proposed a continuationist candidacy, headed on this occasion by the entrepreneur in the technology sector Vicenç del Mar Mullor. Ruben Sans was accompanied by former presidents Eloy Palà and Marc Bonavia in an emotional event that symbolizes the passing of the generational handover and the continuity of the AIJEC project.
