Juan Morera, owner and general manager of Brownie, the Barcelona-based fashion company, has been the star of this September’s #DINARS_de_FUTUR. Morera explained to some thirty AIJEC Joves Empresaris businessmen the evolution of Brownie, a family business born in 2007 and which was incorporated in 2016 after the death of his father. The businessman, who had developed his professional career in the marketing departments of consumer companies, had to look for his place in the family business. In recent years, the company has managed to exceed 60 points of sale and already has a staff of more than 250 employees. In the midst of international expansion (Portugal, France, Belgium and Mexico, where Brownie landed last year), the company run by Morera has managed to adapt to the new times and the impact of covid. In this sense, the businessman stated that for him “the covid crisis has also generated opportunities”.
Among the reflections that Morera has left us is the one that for him is the main difference between an external general manager and an entrepreneur: “I live the brand in a very emotional way. This is what sets me apart from a CEO who is not an entrepreneur. And that makes a big difference when it comes to selling out. ”
