The AIJEC took part this Thursday in the unitary business event that took place at the Estació del Nord in Barcelona and which brought together more than 300 companies, associations, professional associations and different entities from the economic and social world to repudiate street violence and demand that the government prioritize recovery.
During the event, the manifesto “Enough is enough, let’s focus on recovery” was read, a text that condemns the violent acts after the demonstrations of the last days and demands the constitution of a stable executive that prioritize economic recovery. We, the business community, have demanded direct aid from companies, as other EU countries have done. Catalan businessmen respect the right to demonstrate, but we insist that the Government and Barcelona City Council must put things in order when violence is imposed because it is the only way to restore coexistence.
In the face of the unprecedented economic crisis we are facing, the entire united economic fabric has expressed its commitment to continue working to improve the quality of life, attractiveness, competitiveness and international projection of Catalonia and its capital. economic and cultural. In a situation like the current one, neither citizens, nor workers, nor employers would understand that the recovery is not at the heart of any government action.
