The Association of Young Entrepreneurs of Catalonia (AIJEC) opens this Tuesday the period to submit applications for the XXX Young Entrepreneur Award. The entity is looking for the young entrepreneur who best represents the new visions and values of the business world, taking into account aspects such as the consolidation of the initial idea in the form of a business, economic viability, entrepreneurial spirit, personal trajectory, innovation, vision international and future challenges. The period to participate will be extended until May 14.
The Young Entrepreneur Award reaches its 30th edition, becoming one of the most important recognitions of entrepreneurship held in Catalonia. The awards recognize the work, effort and perseverance of young Catalan businessmen capable of generating jobs and promoting business projects. In addition to the Young Entrepreneur Award, AIJEC Joves Empresaris also awards the Best Business Initiative Award, which recognizes the most innovative business idea with future prospects. The Young Entrepreneur Award ceremony will take place at the beginning of October.
For Estefania González Campins, vice president of AIJEC and responsible for the Young Entrepreneur Award, these awards are a great opportunity to give value and visibility to the figure of young entrepreneurs. “The Young Entrepreneur Award recognizes the effort and determination of entrepreneurs to improve society, talent and their own spirit of doing things, creating and undertaking”.
Who can apply for the Young Entrepreneur Award?
All those entrepreneurs of Spanish nationality or foreigners residing in Catalonia who are between 18 and 45 years of age and carry out their business activity in the territory are eligible for the award. Among all the applicants, the AIJEC will choose three finalists and the winner will be chosen by a jury made up of representatives of the main public and private institutions in the country that work in favor of the company, as well as various media.
The benchmark awards for entrepreneurship in Catalonia
In addition to the Young Entrepreneur Award and the Award for the Best Business Initiative, AIJEC Joves Empresaris will award three more awards: the Award for the Best Business Trajectory, which is given to an entrepreneur with experience and an already consolidated business project; the Recognition of Business Linguistic Quality, for a positive promotion of the use of the Catalan language in the company as a tool for qualitative improvement and the Recognition of Social Entrepreneurship. The entity also awards the Recognition to the Future Young Entrepreneur to an entrepreneurial project worked for minors under 18 years of age.
The list of winners of the Young Entrepreneur Award
Carlos Duran, co-founder of the hoy-voy driving schools, was the winner of the last edition of the Premi Jove Empresari held last October. An edition in which the Award for Best Business Initiative was awarded to BOLD by Bernat Carreras, an engineering consultancy specialized in composite materials, mainly for Formula 1 teams, which has become an electric battery production company for sectors such as aviation and for high-performance vehicles.
Among the winners of recent years, names such as Enric Asunción from Wallbox, Marco Coloma from Hiedra, Elisenda Bou-Balust from Vilynx and José Elias from Audax Energía stand out.
